Rebecca is a Graduate Student Researcher at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute-UHN. Rebecca first joined the Home and Community Team as a co-op student in January 2017 during her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Memorial University of Newfoundland. She is now pursuing an MSc in Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Dr. Alison Novak. Rebecca’s research involves studying the influence of grab bar design on biomechanical risk factors for falls. The goal of this work is to reduce the prevalence of slips and falls in bathrooms by informing clinical recommendations and assistive device design.
