Pouya joined the Home and Community team in May 2017. He studies mechanical engineering at the University of Toronto and is pursuing streams in bio-engineering and mechatronics. As a past swimming and fitness instructor, Pouya aims to integrate engineering with human locomotion. He also likes to read about evolution, physiology and neurosciences.
Pouya works with Dr. Yue Li on accessibility and Universal Design in winter. Currently, he is investigating the slip resistance of alternative pavements to prevent slip and fall injuries in winter weather conditions.
