After doing her fourth year thesis project with the Home and Community Team in 2005-2006, Emily rejoined the Home and Community Team in 2008 for her PhD. She is currently the research lead on a project to develop technologies to assist home caregivers, which includes work on the SlingSerter, Kinect, Kit and StandEasy projects. She has also been involved in a project to determine how much space scooters need to maneuver. Her goal is to keep doing research and development that helps improve people’s lives.
